Our Own Backyard”
Prayer
O God, our loving Father, help us rightly to remember the birth of Jesus, that we may share in the song of the angels, the gladness of the shepherds and the worship of the wise men. May Christmas morning make us happy to be your children and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus’ sake.

What is Health Ministry?
The West Central Ohio Health Ministry Program receives many calls from the spiritual community asking how their congregation can become a part of the program.
The goal of this program is to assist churches to establish or enhance their Health Ministries by providing guidance and resources through the Health Ministry Coordinator.
The Activities of the Health Ministries Program and the coordinator fall within several categories:
* Presentations about the West Central Ohio Health Ministries Program
* On-going support of faith communities and their Health Ministries Programs
* Preparation of monthly newsletter
* Offering educational opportunities for the Network Churches and the public
* Sponsoring community-wide events related to the health of the "body, mind and spirit"
Most churches are already doing a number of activities that would fall under the umbrella of a health ministry, such as visitation teams, outreach ministries, and health screenings (blood pressure checks, etc.).
Please call the office if your church is interested in establishing or enhancing the health activities in your congregation.
Churches United Pantry
(C.U.P.)
A Network of Churches that provide food to eligible persons with food from the West Ohio Foodbank and donations. Located at 129 S. Pierce St., C.U.P. is always in need of volunteer help and donations of food. Call 419-221-3243 to see how your church can help.
Medical Information Notebooks
Each time you go to a new health care provider, are admitted to the hospital or have out patient testing, you are asked a variety of questions about your health status. Occasionally you may be expected to be able to provide this information for yourself or a loved one in a crisis situation. This series of classes will help you collect and file this information, so it will be easily accessible.
The WCO Health Ministries Program can help you complete a Medical Information Notebook through a series of 2-3 sessions. Call the office at 419-227-0753 for more information on how to bring this project to your congregation members.
